This week, House of Vans took over Boston for the first time. Feburary 18-20, House of Vans hosted three free nights of music, art and snowboarding at The Middle East in Cambridge, bringing out Title Fight, Metz, Dark Blue, Earl Sweatshirt, XXYYXX, Cities Aviv, Anamanaguchi, Baths and Weeknight for the show.

Rounding out the music scene with some snowboarding and art, Vans hosted a pop-up snowboard park right in front of the venue, screened Vans’ documentary, “20 Years: Off the Wall, on the Snow,” and showed off work by artist Dennis McNett.

Cypress, CA (February 21, 2014) – In partnership with FYF, Vans introduced Brooklyn-based music institution House of Vans to Boston for the first time February 18-20. Featuring three free nights of eclectic music, art and snowboarding in the heart of Cambridge, hundreds of fans attended the showcase at local venue, The Middle East. Each evening featured a talented lineup of artists including Title Fight, Metz, Dark Blue, Earl Sweatshirt, XXYYXX, Cities Aviv, Anamanaguchi, Baths and Weeknight.

In addition to music, Vans also hosted a one-of-a-kind pop-up snowboard park created by Snowboy Productions, stationed right in front of The Middle East where New England’s best snowboarders, including Vans team rider Nick Poohachoff, put on an impressive demo for all to witness. A special screening of Vans’ snow documentary, “20 Years: Off the Wall, On the Snow,” was held Tuesday and Thursday against the snowy backdrop of Massachusetts Ave. and Brookline St. Inside The Middle East, guests got a first look at artwork by Dennis McNett, who custom-designed pieces for the House of Vans takeover that will continue to live at the space indefinitely. Snowboarding fans and concert-goers left each night with free live screen-printed t-shirts, band merch and Vans giveaways.

House of Vans is a roving music venue that echoes the stand-alone space in Brooklyn, NY. House of Vans continues to grow with special pop-up events across the globe with stops in Europe, Mexico, Asia and Canada. In the US, House of Vans has stopped in Huntington Beach, CA for the Vans US Open of Surfing and will take over the Mohawk in Austin, TX at SXSW for a second year.
